Retitriporites typicus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide V/I-89 Loc: 121.5X23.4 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Sometimes sculptural elements not fused. Size of the lumina diminishing towards equator. Thickness of exine 1.5 μ: ectexine thicker than endexine. Pores with annulus. Wall semitectate.
