S. Archangelsky and M. C. Zamaloa 1986Grano monocolpado de contorno ecuatorial ovalado, extremos agudos a suavemente redondeados. Colpo ocupando el total del diámetro mayor, de márgenes nítidos. Exina tectada, de hasta 1.5 µm de espesor, compuesta por dos capas; capa basal del mismo espesor o levemente más gruesa que la capa superior. Columelas simplibaculadas, de aproximadamente 0.5 µm de alto, fusionadas o no, formando un retículo con mallas subcirculares, con muros de ca. 0.5 µm y lúmenes de hasta 1 µm de diámetro; mallas más pequeñas en los extremos y en la zona que bordea los colpos. Frecuentemente el retículo es incompleto, formándose entonces estructuras vermiculares. Tectum generalmente perforado, perfecto e imperfecto.
