Taxonomy
Cassis flintensis was named by Mansfield (1940). Its type specimen is USNM 498499, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 7118, which is in a Rupelian shallow subtidal limestone in the Flint River Formation of Georgia.
