Ficus lisselongata was named by Beu (2010). Its type specimen is NMB H 18335, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 16866 - Río Cano [Gurabo Fm], which is in a Zanclean marine siltstone in the Gurabo Formation of the Dominican Republic.
