Clavainaperturites cordatus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-96-579 (Catatumbo) Loc: 36.4X109.8 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967 | Pollen grain probably inaperturate; sculpture type clavate. Clavae placed in a pentagonal or hexagonal arrangement and at the apex they are angular in shape. Clavae 3.2 μ long and about 1.7 μ in diameter. Thickness of exine about 4 μ. Wall probably intectate. Some specimens seem to be decollate but the possible furrows are never distinct. |
