Retipollenites confusus

Taxonomy
Retipollenites confusus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-73-574 (Catatumbo). Loc: 37.8X126.5 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Retipollenites.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain spheroidal with a reticulum that is apparently not inserted on a basal layer. Lumina 1.5-7 μ in diameter. Thickness of exine (reticulum only) ca. 3 μ. No apertures were observed.
