Tricolpites bibaculatus was named by Archangelsky and Zamaloa (1986). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is p. m. 1070, 27.7/102.7, a plant debris (Pollen grain), and it is a compression preserving soft parts.

Retículo de lúmenes poligonales de tamaño irregular de 0.7 a 4 µm de diámetro, muros 0.7 a 1 µm de ancho. Nexina de ca. 1 µm de espesor, sexina de hasta 2 µm. Columelas anchas con cabezas expandidas y parcialmente fusionadas dispuestas en hileras dobles o simples.
