Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
T. Van der Hammen and C. Garcia de Mutis 1966 | Polyplicate. With a smooth zone at each pole; diameter of this zone ± 10 μ. Size of the grain ± 34 μ long and ± 19-23 μ wide; pollen index relatively variable; exine thicker in the polar areas; number of plicae ± 30-50. Sometimes the exine is open at one of the 'plicae', thus simulating a colpus. The diameter of the polar area of the holotype is about 9 μ, and the proportion of this diameter to the width of the grain is about 0.4. |
