Retidiporites magdalenensis was named by Van der Hammen and Garcia de Mutis (1966). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-V-41 Col. S.G.N. (RL-11), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D body fossil.

Van der Hammen and Garcia 1966 | Diporate, micro-reticulate. Pores without annulus, sometimes slightly elongate, simulating short colpi. Diameter of the pores up to ± 10 μ. The lumina of the reticulum are smaller than 1 μ. Muri relatively wide. Thickness of the exine 1-1.5 μ. The size varies between ± 30 and 40 μ long and ± 20 and 30 μ wide. Frequently one side is more convex than the other. This species is related to R. bengalensis Varma & Rawat. |
