Azurduya chavelensis

Taxonomy
Camarotoechia chavelensis was named by Amos (1958) [Neotype: IPI 3449 defined by Cisterna and Isaacson (2003) Alcheringa 27: 63-73]. Its type specimen is D.N.M. Nro 493, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Paurorhyncha chavelensis by Isaacson and Dutro (1999); it was recombined as Azurduya chavelensis by Cisterna and Isaacson (2003).

A. J. Amos 1958Medium sized, triagular to subpentagonal camarotoechids with uniplicate anterior margin. Sulcus and fold covered with 7-8 sub-angular costae, flanks with 8-12. Ventral interior with subparallel dental lamellae, strongly divergent and anteriorly, extending one-sixth the length of the valve. Dorsal interior with divided hing plate, extending around the length of dorsal valve.
