G. A. Cisterna and P. E. Isaacson 2003 | Camarotoechiidae of medium size and sub-triangular outline; width and length about sub-equal in juvenile specimens. Strongly dorsibiconvex. Ventral sinus and dorsal fold initially weak, but better defined anteriorly. Simple, subangular costae, 7-8 on sinus and fold, reaching up 8 on each lateral flanks. Anterior commisure uniplicate. Ventral interior with conspicuous, generally subparallel ventral plates reaching up 0.2 of the valve length. Teeth small, smooth and rounded. Septalium distinctive supported by a conspicuous, long median septum extending about 0,3-0.5 of length valve. Dorsal muscle scars prominent, sub-rhomboidal in outline. |
