Azurduya was named by Cisterna and Isaacson (2003). It is not extant. Its type is Camarotoechia chavelensis.

It was assigned to Camarotoechiidae by Cisterna and Isaacson (2003).

G. A. Cisterna and P. E. Isaacson 2003Camarotoechiidae of medium size and sub-triangular outline; width and length about sub-equal in juvenile specimens. Strongly dorsibiconvex. Ventral sinus and dorsal fold initially weak, but better defined anteriorly. Simple, subangular costae, 7-8 on sinus and fold, reaching up 8 on each lateral flanks. Anterior commisure uniplicate. Ventral interior with conspicuous, generally subparallel ventral plates reaching up 0.2 of the valve length. Teeth small, smooth and rounded. Septalium distinctive supported by a conspicuous, long median septum extending about 0,3-0.5 of length valve. Dorsal muscle scars prominent, sub-rhomboidal in outline.
