Tricolporites annae was named by Van der Hammen and Garcia de Mutis (1966). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-I-73, Col. S.G.N. (HB-284), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Retitricolporites annae by Van der Hammen and Garcia de Mutis (1966).

T. Van der Hammen and C. Garcia de Mutis 1966Tricolpate (in general the pores are almost invisible), reticulate. Shape ± rounded. Colpi short with margo. The polar area and the surrounding zone of the colpi with a heavy reticulum, and a fine reticulum in the central zones of the intercolpia. Size ± 47-53 μ.
