Azurduya cingolanii was named by Cisterna and Isaacson (2003). Its type specimen is IPI 3606, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil.

Isaacson 2003Azurduya with subrounded to subtriangular outline; weakly dorsibiconvex; surface ornamented by few, low costae, 4-5 on sulcus and fold and about 6 on lateral flanks. Ventral interior with conspicuous dental plates, strongly parallel posteriorly. Lateral umbonal cavities subtriangular, very small.
