Taxonomy
Acrodus alexandrae was named by Wemple (1906). Its type specimen is UCMP 9874, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fisher Canyon, west Humboldt Range, which is in an Anisian/Ladinian marine horizon in Nevada.
