Taxonomy
Psilastephanocolpites verrucosus was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-57-598 (Catatumbo). Loc: 33.3X126.8 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain stephanocolpate, oblate-suboblate; furrow C α 1, C β 1b-3, C γ 1-2; sculpture type psilate, but verrucate in narrow zone along colpi. Thickness of exine about 4 μ; ectexine thicker than endexine. The tectate pollen grain with equatorial thickening resembling an equatorial costa.
