Taxonomy
Distichites columbianus was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28918 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 83835, Crying Girl Prairie Creek, which is in an Alaunian marine horizon in the Pardonet Formation of Canada.
