Taxonomy
Hoplotropites intermedius was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 32095 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 42398, Mount McLearn, which is in a Tuvalian marine siltstone in the Baldonnel Formation of Canada.
