Taxonomy
Jovites ellipticus was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 70995 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 94736, Mount Laurier, which is in a Tuvalian marine siliciclastic in the Ludington Formation of Canada.
