Taxonomy
Tornquistites transiens was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 34604 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 68181, Mount McLearn, which is in a Lacian marine siliciclastic in the Baldonnel Formation of Canada.
