Taxonomy
Metatirolites withrowi was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 32344 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 74758, Mount Withrow, which is in a Ladinian marine siliciclastic in the Toad Formation of Canada.
