Paschatherium yvettae was named by Gheerbrant et al. (1997). Its type specimen is MPZ 96/118, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Campo, which is in a Thanetian terrestrial horizon in the Navarri Formation of Spain.
