Taxonomy
Microhyus reisi was named by Antunes et al. (1987). Its type specimen is Centro de Estratigrafia e Paleobiologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa SV3-3, a mandible (Mandible sin. with p3-m1 and alveoli of p1-p2), and it is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Teilhardimys reisi by Hooker and Russell (2012).
