Nothofagidites saraensis

Nothofagidites saraensis was named by Menendez and Caccavari (1975) [Botanical affinity: Fagaceae. Type Nothofagus fusca (Romero y Zamaloa, 1997)]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BAPB. Prep. pal. N° 510, a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

C. A. Menendez and M. A. Caccavari 1975Granos isopolares , estefanocolpados, peroblados, de 21.85 (28.64) 34.5 µ de diámetro, amb circular a subcircular. Colpos en número de 5 (6) 7, con una profundidad de 2 (2.12) 3 µ y un engrosamiento de 1.15 (1.5) 2 µ. La exina con un espesor de 0.5 (0.6) 0.8 µ entre los colpos, se presenta cubierta de espinas débiles y pequeñas con una densidad de 48.6 (54.3) 60 en 100 µ²
