Taxonomy
Sisenna novoguineana was named by Skwarko (1973). Its type specimen is CPC 11163 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 20NG0018, Yuat River, which is in a Carnian marine shale in the Yuat Formation of Papua New Guinea.
