Kayentachelys aprix
Taxonomy
Kayentachelys aprix was named by Gaffney et al. (1987). Its type specimen is MNA V1558, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gold Spring Quarry 1 (MNA, MCZ, TMM 45609), which is in a Sinemurian/Pliensbachian floodplain claystone in the Kayenta Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Kayentachelys.
