Taxonomy
Striatricolporites gamerroi was named by Archangelsky (1973) [Botanical affinity: Anacardiaceae (Van der Hammen, 1956)]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: p.m. 1010; coord. 36.5/102.6. Stored at Museo de La Plata, Paleobotanical division., a microspore (Tricolporate pollen), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Bororó, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.

S. Archangelsky 1973Grano subprolado a prolado. Colpos llegando cerca de los polos, con costae colpi más desarrollados hacia el ecuador; poros lalongados, de contornos poco nítidos, a veces poco visibles. Exina delicada, hasta 1.5 µ, con una capa basal muy delgada, columelas cortas, tectada (a semitectada?), microreticulada (lúmenes menores de 0.5 µ); externamente (tectum) estriado; estrías dispuestas en general en el sentido del eje polar, bifurcadas y anastomosadas, uniformes en todo el grano.
