Taxonomy
Pelobates fahlbuschi was named by Böhme (2010). Its type specimen is BSPG 1959 II 16338, a partial skull (an isolated frontoparietal), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sandelzhausen gravel pit, which is in a Langhian fluvial-lacustrine marl/mudstone in the Upper Freshwater Molasse Formation of Germany.
