Taxonomy
Leptotrypella was named by Vinassa de Regny (1921) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ludl C Tour-l Sepkoski's reference number: 509,544]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Heterotrypidae by Bassler (1953); to Trepostomata by Boardman (1960); to Trepostomida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Atactotoechidae by Tolokonnikova (2010).
