Taxonomy
Bobbodus xerxesi was named by Hampe et al. (2013). Its type specimen is MB.f 19201, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is H7/1, Baghuk Mountain, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Hambast Formation of Iran.
