Taxonomy
Cerithium lateplicatum was named by Klipstein (1843). It is the type species of Camponaxis.

It was recombined as Katosira lateplicata by Kittl (1894) and Nützel et al. (2012); it was recombined as Camponaxis lateplicata by Gründel and Nützel (2013).
