Loxophragma was named by Boardman (1960) [Sepkoski's age data: D Eife D Fame Sepkoski's reference number: 1034,1241]. It is not extant. Its type is Loxophragma lechrium.

It was assigned to Trepostomata by Boardman (1960); and to Trepostomida by Sepkoski (2002).
