Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria otapiriensis was named by Begg and Grant-Mackie (2003). Its type specimen is OU 14514 and is a mold. Its type locality is McF E29, Taylors Stream, Hokonui Hills (E45/f73), which is in an Otapirian marine siliciclastic in New Zealand.
