Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria kiritehereensis was named by Begg and Grant-Mackie (2003). Its type specimen is AU G6262 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AU 4571, Kiritehere Stream, Kawhia (R16/f8009), which is in a Warepan marine siliciclastic in New Zealand.
