Taxonomy
Murihikua marwicki was named by Begg and Grant-Mackie (2003). Its type specimen is AU G6261 and is a mold. Its type locality is AU 341, Awakino Gorge (R17/f8574), which is in an Otapirian marine horizon in the Ngutunui Formation of New Zealand.
