Taxonomy
Murihikua aparima was named by Begg and Grant-Mackie (2003). Its type specimen is OU 16444 and is a mold. Its type locality is JDC 2711N, Mount Heslington, Nelson (N28/f158), which is in an Oretian marine siliciclastic in New Zealand.
