Taxonomy
Waincophis pressulus was named by Rage (2001). Its type specimen is DGM 1337-R, a set of vertebrae (mid-trunk vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Itaboraí snake collections, which is in a Paleocene/Eocene terrestrial carbonate in Brazil.
