Taxonomy
Rhynchonella starhembergica was named by Zugmayer (1882). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Brand near Peisching, which is in a Rhaetian carbonate limestone in Austria.

It was recombined as Osmarella starhembergica by Pearson (1977).
