J. Sterli 2015Ninjemys oweni can be diagnosed as a meiolaniid by the presence of a contact between quadratojugal and squamosal below cavum tympani, presence of accessory ridge on the triturating surface of the palate, presence of horns in the squamosal and the presence of a tail club and tail rings
