Taxonomy
Amalgamoporous was named by Farmer (1975). It is not extant. Its type is Amalgamoporus kecius.

It was corrected as Amalgamoporus by Jiménez-Sánchez (2009) and Jiménez-Sánchez et al. (2010).

It was assigned to Cryptostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rhinidictyidae by Jiménez-Sánchez (2009) and Jiménez-Sánchez et al. (2010).
