Phoberomys burmeisteri was named by Kraglievich (1926). Its type specimen is MACN-A 5831, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil.

Synonyms

Phoberomys praecursor was named by Kraglievich (1932). Its type specimen is MACN-Pv 9026, a set of teeth (left p4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Parana, Pueblo Brugo to Diamante, Ituzaingo Fm., which is in a Huayquerian marine sandstone/mudstone in the Ituzaingo Formation of Argentina.

It was synonymized subjectively with Phoberomys burmeisteri by Rasia and Candela (2018).
Phoberomys insolita was named by Kraglievich (1940). Its type specimen is MLP 15-251, a set of teeth (M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Parana, Pueblo Brugo to Diamante, Ituzaingo Fm., which is in a Huayquerian marine sandstone/mudstone in the Ituzaingo Formation of Argentina.

It was synonymized subjectively with Phoberomys burmeisteri by Rasia and Candela (2018).
Phoberomys lozanoi was named by Kraglievich (1940). Its type specimen is MLP 36, a set of teeth (M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Parana, Pueblo Brugo to Diamante, Ituzaingo Fm., which is in a Huayquerian marine sandstone/mudstone in the Ituzaingo Formation of Argentina.
