Taxonomy
Mesosciophila venosa was named by Rohdendorf (1946). Its type specimen is PIN SAGU 26, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Karatau (PIN collection SAGU), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan.
