Eostratiomyia avia

Taxonomy
Eostratiomyia avia was named by Rohdendorf (1964). Its type specimen is PIN 95/2511, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2511), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Eostratiomyia.

It was considered a nomen nudum by Rohdendorf (1951).
