Taxonomy
Anarosaurus multidentatus was named by Huene (1958). Its type specimen is Mbg 4791, a mandible (Partial mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cymatosaurus multidentatus by Rieppel (1997) and Sander et al. (2014).
