Taxonomy
Oryctochlus mirificus was named by Kalugina (1993). Its type specimen is PIN 3015/254(846), a nymph (pupa), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Unda (PIN collection 3015), which is in a Tithonian lacustrine - small horizon in the Glushkovo Formation of the Russian Federation.
