Neomegalodon triqueter
Taxonomy
Cardium triquetrum was named by Wulfen (1793). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is St. Oswald adit, Bad Bleiberg, which is in a Julian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal packstone in the Wetterstein Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Megalodus triqueter by von Wöhrmann (1889), Frech (1912) and Zapfe (1972); it was recombined as Neomegalodon triqueter by Yao et al. (2007).
