Taxonomy
Chemnitzia brocchi was named by Stoppani (1857). It is the type species of Toxoconcha.

It was recombined as Coelostylina brocchii by Kittl (1894); it was recombined as Undularia (Toxoconcha) brocchii by Kittl (1899); it was recombined as Toxoconcha brocchi by Yin and Yochelson (1983).
