Taxonomy
Laelius preteritus was named by Barbosa and Azevedo (2013). Its type specimen is SIZK K-4207, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Klesov locality (SIZC K collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.
