Taxonomy
Probittacomorpha brisaci was named by Krzemiński et al. (2012). Its type specimen is MNHN F.A46700, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Montagne d'Andance, Saint-Bauzile, Privas (MNHN collection), which is in a Turolian crater lake diatomite/volcaniclastic in France.
