Taxonomy
Eotrichocera (Archaeotrichocera) spatiosa was named by Liu et al. (2012). Its type specimen is CNU-DIP-NN2008130, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU 2008 collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
